michael and steve in the big city (pt. 2)
10:41 a.m.

ok, i guess i better continue, i've got people begging, hehe!

monday, sept. 20th. (continued)

after our delicious lunch, we got the car brought around..it was time to see the sights! took steve for a quick run down the crooked part of lombard, that's always fun...

then we headed west towards the golden gate...crossing an intersection, steve happened to look to the north, down the hill towards the bay...and saw a view like this...

he he, he let out a gasp! just like i had imagined...it IS pretty stunning, especially when you're not expecting it...oh, btw, i didn't take those last two pics, i had to go grab 'em online...but the rest are mine, with one obvious exception...

ok, we got across the bridge and turned around so steve could see the city from the north. i missed that turnoff to get up into the marin headlands, it's a bit tricky, the sign says it's the sausalito exit, and then you have to make a sharp right..oh well...next time?

put on "lowdown", and we rocked our way back into the city. zipped onto the 19th. ave. exit (yay! another tunnel!) and went all the way down to fulton. turned west...damn, the park is on the left, all the way down to the ocean, it just goes on forever. turned into the park and got down to the beach. we sat in the car while i played "til i die" by the beach boys, god that's a beautiful song. then we got out and got some sand in our shoes! here's a great pic...

awwww, ain't we cute?

all of a sudden we heard a blimp...the sanyo blimp, it was...here's steve trying to grab it and take it back home with him...

that wasn't the last we saw of that thing, either...you'll see!

then we headed north, up past the cliff house, and into that really ritzy hood southwest of the presidio...mork lives out there somewhere, i hear...nanu nanu!

here's another shot from that beautiful spot south of the bridge...

unreal...just like a postcard, huh?

headed to the marina...we were checking out some tunes...i had "wishing well" by terrence trent d'arby on, and steve loved that! then he pulled out a cd he brought, some 80's stuff...and he put on "c'est la vie" by robbie nevil...and i loved THAT! we parked by the yacht club, and steve had to blast "we built this city" by starship, haha! it fit perfectly as we gazed at the bay and the golden brown hills of marin.

went down to the bayshore east of the bridge, here we are..i was running to get my arm around steve before the shutter clicked, didn't quite make it...

steve took this pic of a nice lady jogger...

omg! there's some homeless guy taking a leak under that little bridge, how gross!

then we walked over to the palace of fine arts and strolled around...

there's houses right across the street from that, imagine having THAT out your window, wow!

headed up steiner, found alamo park and the famous row of painted ladies, as seen in the opening credits of "full house"...

i found this picture of the same spot, from right after the '06 quake

those folks were NOT having a great day...

then we took a quick spin through the castro, with plans to go back and walk around later that night...hmm, lots of eye candy there, for sure...actually, steve and i were total PIGS checking out the boys all weekend...just browsing, ya know.

went back to the hotel, chilled for a few hours. then got the car again and went back out to the castro, walked around, window shopping. i saw the coolest xmas ornaments, kinda like an s&m theme, black leather balls with spikes, shit like that...TOO funny! went to esacpe from new york for pizza...

oh, THAT'S a flattering picture! HUGE slices, my veggie had big chunks of artichoke hearts on it, as you might be able to see, very yummy!

walked around some more, there were only two bars hopping on a monday night..."the bar", which was really crowded, and daddy's bar...(check that link if you dare!)

daddy's had a black leather curtain covering the door...we thought about going in...walked around some more. went back, and went in...ok, the bartenders were in their underwear..no problemo...steve ordered a smirnoff's, i got an o'doul's of course...we looked around. it was pretty crowded. noticed a kind of raised platform in the back, looked like a dancefloor...went up there....hmmm. LOTS of men in their underwear...monday is underwear night, which i found out later, haha! we kind of parked against the wall...wow, some stuff was going on! i was trying to be cool and not stare, but hey, it was hard to know WHERE to look...steve saw some guy getting head. i didn't see any dick, steve did! must admit, i saw one perfect ass, the guy had a jockstrap on...oh, i DID see a guy getting his nipples sucked by two guys, while he was casually chatting with a third...all i could think was "geez, how rude!" just a lot of guys playing around on a monday night...some guy came up to steve and totally checked him out, just kinda stared...steve just turned away. bitch, the boy's with ME! we were there maybe 10 minutes at the most...i said "ok, just grab my hand like i'm you're daddy and let's get out of here!"

ok, that was interesting, ha! and tuesday is red hanky night, which means fisting, whew!

no thank you.

walked up to market, went a few blocks, and then headed back to the car, and then back to the hotel...not bad for steve's first day in the city, it's so fun to see it through his eyes, i went to places i usually wouldn't go...INDEED, hehe!

ok, i still have all of tuesday to cover, and our bittersweet parting on wednesday....will wrap it up in a few days before i head back down for the dolls concert on sunday.....see ya soon!

love ya's,

- m.
