mazeltov!
7:21 p.m.

got home from ukiah a couple hours ago...had a great time!

got down there around 12:30, had lunch at the ukiah brewing company

then walked around downtown.

the wedding was very interesting, the bride is japanese-american, and the groom is jewish...they had a traditional jewish ceremony after dusk, as a wedding is seen to be business, and we had to wait until it got dark so the sabbath was over..so we ate first. the food was southern, as they live in atlanta. they actually had a civil ceremony a year ago.

the bride wore a beautiful pink kimono

and there were chopsticks at the table, with little jewish charms attached, very cool! and we got chocolate-covered fortune cookies...j. and i both had very interesting fortunes, which i will NOT divulge here!

we took lots of pictures, got some real good ones. the ceremony was done by a cool lady rabbi, i found parts very moving. it took place under a chuppah

which you might remember from "meet the parents", hehehe..this one did NOT catch fire!

when we left we went back downtown, cuz j. wanted to take some pics of some of the old-school neon signs.

hehe, i do what i'm TOLD!

there ARE some sorta 50's buildings around, some of them have been remodeled a bit. the camera battery was dying, we had to wait a bit between shots.

went back to the motel, watched tv and stuff.

this morning after our continental breakfast, we headed out to the groom's parent's house, for a nosh and some schmoozing, that was fun. the newlyweds were opening some gifts.

had a little rain coming home.

so...a great weekend getaway, i think j. and i make good traveling companions, we're always laughing and smiling...

ok, that's all for now... catch ya soon!

xoxo,

MICHAEL
