day 4 of steve's visit
12:37 a.m.

ok, lets see...

we got up late thursday.

gave steve a quick tour of samoa across the bay, we saw houses were for rent over there online last night. it's a former lumber company town, cute little houses, and a 5 min. walk to the ocean.

went down to ferndale, hit all the little shops, the blacksmith gallery, hobart's (saw the display of rob's cd's, looks great!) we smelled many nice soaps!

here's steve in front of the gingerbread mansion b & b...

went to the old cemetery, took more pics there. drove over to the catholic one too, st. mary's, it's so...gothic, honey!

plenty of hot men down there, farm-ish lookin' guys.

came back to eureka, stopped by ocean view cemetery, showed steve where my folks are, he'd never been in a big indoor masoleum before. i love it out there.

went downtown to bon boniere and had ice cream.

came home, chilled, watched a bit of a top chef repeat. steve got hold of JR, and i dropped him off over there around..6, i guess it was. it's just a few blocks from rob's. steve called at 10pm, they were taking the bus to JR's friend jenny's place in arcata to spend the night.. steve's gonna come into town with JR in the morning, go to borders with him and then see if he can walk up the hill and find my house :)

we should be on the road before noon. i booked a room at the motel again, god, that place is nice. i'll show you some pics later.

have to go online and see if there's anything going on in sf tomorrow night.

buddy KINDA likes the tent uncle dan gave him, he goes in it, but hasn't actually slept in it. he sorta plays with it!

email to jason:

"hi there :)

working on some test edit/cropping of some pics from sf last week...any comments are apprieciated.

the umbrella shot was in the alley where we were eating lunch outside of cafe claude, it was sprinkling on and off, and this couple walked by...i have my camera on silent now for these kind of pics, btw, hehehe...i think that one looks sooo romantic.

the street scene looks kind of retro to me. i'm real happy with the cropping. its a bit grainy, as it's a small part of the total photo. but i like how it's a partial view of the subjects.

i dunno, i can't elaborate too well on what looks good to me in an edit, i just know when i'm satisfied.

the pic of steve was taken when he was in line at jamba juice, i was outside. the reflection of the bus i like a lot, and the numbers add an interesting detail i think.

i'll show you some more stuff soon.

anyhoo...gotta pack a few things for tomorrow.

nice chattin' with ya today. catch you later.

MK"
