Toshiba MW24F52 24" Flat TV with DVD and VCR

i bought this today:
my tv has been fucked up for a while. it works fine, but the programming has been all messed up...if i have it set to see all the channels i'm supposed to, then i cant seem to record or play back video tapes.
i've had that little dvd player next to my bed for a few years, but that seems to have pooped out. with just that, i never really felt that i HAD a dvd. and i can't seem to play them on the computer, even though there is dvd software installed...i'm a dork.
i've been looking at dvd/vcr combos..but, man, the more reviews i read on amazon, it seemed that EVERY model caused problems for people. rob had trouble with his, i think it stopped recording. i have tons of tapes i'd love to transfer to dvd...but i saw this all-in-one thing...the picture was really nice.
i looked at all the giant lcd tv's...i'm still not sold on those. most of them i didn't think looked that sharp. i saw one that was medium size that DID look good, and it was like 2300 bucks...yeah, right.
this new one, the vcr records, but the dvd is just a player. so i'll stick to tapes for recording until next time. i just didn't feel like dealing with all that programming stuff, and really, i don't watch that much tv, but it will be nice just to be able to record stuff again. but WOW, to finally have a dvd in the living room, it rocks! PLUS, i can burn photo cd's on the pc and look at them on the tv!
omg, it fit into the entertainment center with like a quarter-inch clearance on each side, i'm not kidding!
so, now it's time to get a few more dvd's and see if i can arrange some movie/popcorn/snuggle time...oh yeah!

eye exam tomorrow at 9 a.m.
