A GIFT FROM THE SKY
10:28 p.m.

i don't know-should i really explain all about myself, or should i just do what i'm gonna do? the latter, i think will work better-the holes will be filled in later.so,o.k., here goes a little bit about today which you, the reader will have no clear reference points concerning background information-oh,shit ,i have to start somewhere, right?

this evening at work on my break i went out in the parking lot to look at the eclipse.i had gathered some strips of darkened developed film, and bo taped them together in a little cardboard frame. a guy and a girl came over from the laundromat to see what was up..i let them look-it was like giving someone a very special gift, a little miracle from the universe-the sun was very bright orange in a black sky when viewed through the film. so i stood around for 15 minutes and offered people a look. one young couple looked at me when i said"hey, wanna take a look at the eclipse?" like i had asked them to smell this great new fart i just created.. they kinda said "uh, no thanks" and went in the store-it was pretty funny, actually.

when i think about the diaries i've read in the past that i've really loved(warhol, joe orton, brian eno) i think about the VOICE,that sense of the writer talking directly to me.. i hope i can achieve that here.

think i'll write a little more later..this is gonna get easier as i go along,i'm sure of it.

favorite entry in brian eno's diary: "why do some turds float?"
