what's in a name anyway? ( and saturday night art class)

DON'T FORGET TO SET YOUR CLOCKS BACK!
here's a weird name..."sros chhorm"...someone was wiring him some money yesterday. and i waited on a woman who had the last name of "zipperer". i've seen "zipper" before...if that's not her married name, she must have gotten teased a lot when she was young. i went to school with two girls named ginger and carol screws! they were VERY popular...and rob (sweetsci) was looking through one of my high school yearbooks once and found a guy named "elton john"! i don't remember him, that might have been some kind of prank. well, i'm on lunch right now...have an idea to work on tonight...i have this painting i did years ago called "self-portrait with blonde hair" and i'm gonna try to scan different sections of it and put it together in a sort of disjointed mosaic style...might turn out cool.
the neighborhood i work in is having their halloween festivities today, and the store is filling up with kids looking for treats. it's gonna get a little hectic. glad i'm only working till 4 p.m. little buggers! see ya later with some "art"...

i had to work until 5! god, did we have a lot of trick-or-treaters...well, i've been having fun this evening...i had to scan my painting in 4 parts...i have no idea how old this is. i'm trying to picture it in different places that i've lived over the years, but i think it must date back to sometime in the mid-eighties. here's the original, pretty much as it really looks...

and now, here's the 21st century version, after i played around with it on the computer...
hmmm, as mr. yunioshi would say,

then i did one of just fragments, kinda abstract...
yeah, i like that one. (actually, i turned the finished product upside down.) ok, i guess that's all for tonight. gotta do the 6 a.m. thang tomorrow...
