BAM ! (let's kick it up a notch)
2:30 p.m.

i made some fried chicken this afternoon, and some rice and veggies. divided it up into separate containers and popped 'em in the freezer. 5 meals to take to work...i love those cheap little containers, the ones about the size of a sandwich. but i have two different brands, and they look the same, but the lids of one won't fit on the other, so i'm always going through the annoying task of putting the wrong lids on...hey, if you can barely stand the excitement that is my life, think how i feel...

the chicken turned out pretty good, even though chunks of the coating kept coming off in the frypan. i've never really got the hang of making great fried chicken, but i keep on trying. i hardly had any flour left, so i poured what i had in a bowl and added some oatmeal (?) and crumbled it between my fingers. this is how i cook, i take a look around at what's handy. then i dipped the chicken legs in a mixture of ranch dressing, lemon juice, mustard, and a little water to thin it out. then into the oatmeal. then in the oil. well, the little bits of crusties were darn good!

the other thing i came up with to do with ranch dressing is to add a dollup when i'm making an omelette...makes the eggs nice and creamy. (roadiepig, did you try that yet?) a little splash of lemon juice and spicy mustard is good in eggs too.

those are some of my staples, things i HAVE to have in the kitchen...ranch dressing, lemon juice, lemon pepper...a little lemon juice and lemon pepper added to olive oil on pasta...yum. and i love those jars of chopped garlic, such a time saver. oh, and classico makes a sun-dried tomato sauce, it's more like a paste really, and just a spoonfull of that in a pot of pasta is great. their pesto is good too. right now, i'm eating a nice gala apple. life IS good.

got some great home-grown cherry tomatoes from bo at work yesterday, and this morning i had those with some pasta. they were so sweet, they tasted like blackberries. and have you ever had those little orange tomatoes called "sungold"? this summer someone from work would go around the corner to the farmer's market on thursdays and get some for those of us who couldn't make it. oh, god are those good! we'd eat 'em like candy. if ya like love apples, try some of those.

_______________________________________

just in case anyone was wondering, i'm sorry but you CAN'T join my new jonifags diaryring. it's just for me and hank in toledo...we're joni mitchell SNOBS! i mean, there's something like 250 people here in d-land who list her as a music fave, and the joni-fans ring only has 4 members! ungrateful little...uh, whatevers! but jonifags, well, it's where the elite meet!

i'm on the list to get reveiwed at marked accordingly...hope they're kind...some of their reviews are pretty brutal, but when i go to check out the diary, they're right! check out their site, that's their tiny little link down there.

sweetsci told me that in the new issue of rolling stone christina arugala talks about her pussy piercing...oooh, shocking! what's left for these girls?

why don't they just come out on stage, put their feet up in the stirrups, get a lttle micro-cam, do a pap smear and get it over with? although i must admit, i saw miss a. on trl one afternoon...she did an unplugged version of her new song (with a string quartet, no less!) and it really was nice. she CAN sing. it's nothing i'd ever buy, cuz i'm sure the album's like 80% filler... but at least she's still looking like a BIG WHORE in her new video...if it ain't broke, etc. what all this shit is doing to our young impressionable teen-gurls, i shudder to think. (oh, since you're up, can you fetch yer ol' grandad his shawl, it's gettin' a bit chilly in here...)

oh and that reminds me of something else sweetsci told me. he was looking at the booklet for one of his niece's britney cd's and they only printed the lyrics for the big hits! how cheesy is that? i guess they think the "kids" will only listen to the songs they've heard on the radio a million times already...

gotta go to work at 4:30, it'll be getting dark just as i'm getting into the groove...weird. i don't even work till closing, i'm off a 8:30....work has been so tense lately. oh, not for me, but some people have had their hours cut in half (people who've been there forever) but i'm pretty safe...i got cut a few hours this week, but last week i had 5 extra, so it all balances out. oh, but i don't wanna talk about work... there's too much to tell... that could be a whole diary in itself.

maybe i SHOULD join the retailwhores diaryring, cuz after all, it's like MISS JABOT says: "you're a lifer!"

god, it feels like nobody's updating much lately...what, do you all have "lives" or something? must be nice... fuckers...
