ok, so what have i learned in the past 5 days?
i'm pretty happy with everything for the most part.
the photo area is ok, but i sure miss some of the editing options i had with picture it. all the videos i posted to youtube are here, but they're all in windows format and i can't do anything with 'em right now. i need software to convert them...not too big of a deal i guess...i'll get to it eventually.cuz i wanna make some dvd's of those.
it's a little harder to find photos right now, but when i merge some of the folders (or "events") it'll be easier.
i DID make a few dvd's last night. the idvd program has this "magic dvd" feature, oh god it's so simple to do! you load some vids or pics, pick a theme and BAM, that's it!
made a few loops on garageband, it's pretty fun. but, for instance, i want to change the speed of the beat, i can't see how to do that yet. a lot about GB is not clear to me yet, but i just keep fooling around till i learn something.
i could go watch some video tutorials, and i'm sure i will, but i tend to learn easier by repetition.
the local newspaper site doesn't seem to update when i click on the desktop link, i have to refresh it. the same happens at xtube and igoogle (my homepage).
these are all minor, though.
one thing that is really bothering me is that i seem to be having a real problem hitting the space bar when i type, i dunno if i'm just nothitting ithard enough or....see, there??? that's what happens, the words run together. weird. but then, i'm a terrible typist anyway.
the email looks good, i can even have a voice read emails, haha!
oh, and the big news...i have two books i ordered online via apple coming soon. one is of my favorite SF pics, that one is 8X6, about 35 pictures. the other one is a mini-book, about 3 1/2 x 2 5/8..it's all bright vivid color pics, i'll show you those via youtube when they get here. i just ordered one of each to see how they look. i have a feeling the SF pics are gonna need some sharpening. but yeah, that's pretty exciting.
i LOVE how the imac turns on pretty much instantly. the dell used to take several minutes for everything to load...
anyhooo, i'm learning stuff everytime i get on here, so, YAY!
let's see, what's been going on in the real world?
we went to arts alive saturday,saw some great stuff. and sunday was open studio in town, jack next door had some sculptures and david boston set up a bunch of his photos there too, some of his stuff i really love. we had a nice art chat and later i went back and took dylan... jack thought his name was LINCOLN, haha!
i've been doing my grocery shopping at eureka natural foods, the new store is really awesome! i kinda got pissed off at safeway...it was petty, maybe i'll tell you about that later. i KNOW that after about a month of not shopping there, of their system not seeing my safeway card, that i'll get some sort of coupon in the mail.
last night i was chatting with mike, told him that dylan had just left..he said something, i don't remember what, but i said 'well, we don't really talk about our relationship, it just sorta...is."
oh, that's the other thing, the yahoochat for mac is kinda different, i don't like the voice ballons in the chat window. i don't see any options for changing settings, and i have no access to the chat rooms, as far as i can see.
bitch, bitch, bitch, right?
but i look at it this way: this cost me 1690.78, including the data transfer. by today, the 5th day, that's 338.16 per day. after 10 days, it's 170 dollars a day. after 100 days, 17 dollars a day. etc etc etc.
ok, this font is too small, time to go explore.
