academy awards

a few quick notes on the oscars...
i missed the first hour, i didn't know it was gonna start so early, so i missed the joan rivers bullshit on E!...which i usually try to catch a bit of, just cuz it's so dopey.
renee zellwiger didn't thank or mention jack white in her speech, are they splitsville? maybe after he beat up that guy in the von bondies, she kicked him to the curb? there was a picture of the guy in spin, which said he looked like "jake lamotta after 12 rounds with sugar ray robinson."
diane keaton didn't win, but she sure looked fetching in her "annie hall" outfit. i dunno, maybe she never throws anything away...god, annie hall...that movie was so important to me. she was on the barbara walters special afterwards, and she kept saying "man" like some old hippie, it was funny.
the orchestra played the beatles' "julia" when julia roberts came out, that was interesting.
i swear, the cat was TOTALY riveted by annie lennox's song, that thing from LOTR. he was sitting on some magazines on top of the hope chest and didn't take his eyes off the tv!
sean penn got in a mention of weapons of mass destruction, i should have known...tim robbins and susan sarandon held their tongues, i was SO surprised. i HATE celebrities making staements at award shows...
sophia coppola is kind of a dork...she talks too fast, and seems kind of inarticulate...haha, i like it! at least it seems real, whereas her ex-husband spike jonze always seemed to be ACTING like a total spazz...she got best original screen play.
johnny depp is 40, yet his hair was all messy and in his eyes, i liked that too!
the song from "a mighty wind" was soooo good, catherine o'hara is one of my all time favorites...she's a comic genius...ALL those people that do those christopher guest movies are so good...but his wife, jamie lee curtis...she has all these...veins on her boobs...it was odd.
LOTR got 11 oscars...i think sir ian was there with another young trophy boy...you go, girlfriend, haha! and one of the hobbits or elves or whatever is real hot, i dunno who he is.
and during the credits, i saw a clip of, um....ya know, the tomb raider chick...jolie...did she get all those gross tattoos taken off her arms? it looked like it...
well, that's not much of a report, but i wasn't that into it.

ok, that's all from hollywood...
oh, and i really wanted bill murray to win...oh well.
