who's yer daddy? not me!
12:16 a.m.

had a nice chat with a friend tonight...kinda smoothed out a liitle bump in the road...that's good. i got a little too protective i think, and it wasn't really my place.

i value our friendship a lot, i think you know that.

i like how diaries talk to each other sometimes, it's so cool. you post something, and hopefully someone somewhere says "hmmm, that MIGHT be about me!"

he kinda nailed me on that one...

i got the weirdest email tonight:

"Where do you live in Eureka? I'm looking for a homo boyfriend."

wow, what a charmer! it was to my regular email, not through diaryland and not spam. i think it's this married
bi guy who's always looking for a hookup in the local yahoo groups.

i replied: "haha, who isn't? how did you find me? got a profile or something somewhere? that was a pretty short email...hmm, so is this!"

haha, he hasn't written back! i googled his name, and he's the chairman of a local politcal group...weird. i wonder how many of those he sent out? sure, i'd like to meeet somebody, but...anyway, i think i'm going to the pride thing this year, that should be interesting...i only need to lose about 40 lbs by june....

actually, this morning i weighed the lowest i have in a while. i've really been on a roll, as far as diet and excercise goes. wish me luck...the burger king demons were whispering in my ear this weekend, but i told 'em to scram! i'm just not interested right now.

on the 20th, the anniversary of the columbine shootings, i sold a woman a columbine plant...

i didn't even know we sold them...

and on the anniversary of when they found cobain's body, this guy came in the store, i haven't seen him in years...well, in 1994 he really looked like kurt...that was odd, seeing him older.

and i wonder if rob remembers the time we were at the record store in the mall, and saw that kid who was dressed just like kurt...that picture of him with the homemade t shirt with the flipper fish on it, and the green old man's cardigan sweater. the kid was about 13 or 14, a little baby kurt. i just can't say if that was before or after kurt died.

and another time down there we heard a sort of house/dance version of "teen spirt"...i've never been able to find out who that was...there was some disco diva singing over all these sequencers, it was totally out of context, but cool...it was like "hmm, i know this song....OOOH!"

have you ever heard tori's version? it's beautiful.

a picture from my walk tonight...

i just like all those different angles.

hmm, ok, that's all. i feel a lot better...

love,

- m.
