thursday night update
9:57 p.m.

took rob to the airport tonight. he's flying to virginia to attend the teacher's job fair thingy. he's got all his resumes and stuff together, it all looks amazing. i'm so proud of him, what he's accomplished over the last few years.

we had a bite to eat at the silver lining up there, yum!

and he just called me from sfo. i'll be watching chia and raiding rob's library. he'll be back tuesday night.

i got VD messages from thailand, the phillipines, iran, and redmond road. i gave out the password for a 30 day membership at militaryclassified.com to a few deserving fella's, haha! who's chafed?

casey came in the store monday, we had a nice chat. he starts the job soon. lucy came in monday also, to tell me about that movie "afro punk" that's showing at HSU next week. i have to work to late, or i'd go, it looks cool. she said eric said hi.

nice chat with j last week, he's been doing some cool sewing and knitting projects. he sent me a bunch of pics the week before. he showed me an awesome quilt site and i showed him some 60's console stereos on ebay that had me drooling. that was fun, kind of like...old times.

in cooper's blog today :

"Okay, you lot have spoken. Ixnay on 'The Blog People.' The LHotB anthology title is 'Userlands,' plus some descriptive subtitle or other that I'll devise. After saying not too many days ago that the anthology cover art issue wasn't an issue yet, I've been informed by Akashic Press that it is in fact an imminent issue. So I'm assuming that some of you asked because you want to submit artwork to be considered for the front or back cover. If that describes you, then give me a heads up here asap. I'll then direct you to where to submit. As I've stated a couple of times, the LHotB book covers are the turf and decision of the designer Joel Westendorf, not me, so just keep that in mind."

so...this afternoon at lunch i fiddled with a few pics and sent him this letter when i got home from the airport:

"hey dennis...

got my loose thread and guide in the mail the other day, looking foward to reading 'em.

ok.
here's some picture ideas for the book. i figure i'll show 'em to you first, and then i guess you'll let me know where to send 'em to at the publisher.

there's two examples of the telephone wire picture, i played with them a bit. i assume the art person at the publisher would probably have their own ideas as far as doing something to it, these are just ideas i had, i have the original, unedited pic in a large size file. i would be fine with any manipulation they wanted to do. i can even see it in garish neon colors.

the wire made me think of...well, all the communication back and forth that goes on online, all the words, thoughts, etc. i like the bit of a glow on "wires2small".

"userlands" is pretty abstract, lots of images would fit. the wires look a bit 70's punkish, xerox...

the blurry building at night with the full moon is a mental health facility here, it used to be a hospital, haha it kinda looks like "horror hospital" !

and the shot with the two windows..hmmm, i dunno, i think of two rooms each containing a lonely person, each unable to communicate with the other. looks a bit david lynch to me.

ok, i'm free-associating here, sorry.

anyway, these pics came to mind. i'd love to be able to contribute something. i've made a few imaginary book covers on the pc here and there, it's always been a bit of a fantasy dream job i guess.

so, if you're interested, let me know who to send these on to.

welcome back to cali, it's been very cold up here in eureka, i'm sure l.a. will be a bit more pleasant.

take care,

michael"

i mean, whatever, it's worth a shot, right?

for fans of project runway only:
just WHO is santino fucking to still be in the game??? tim? michael kors? that jumpsuit (jumpsuit????) he made for kara...it was FALLING APART! and he outright LIED about it, too! the outfit chloe made for nick...that was beautiful, wasn't it?

hehe, i'm such a fag, right?

ok, gots ta go. lots of things planned for the weekend, chores, a walk in the country, etc.

take care, y'all.

xoxo,

- M.
