fun/no fun

zipped over to arts arcata friday night. my girl lucy had a show at the batkave. cool space, probably a bit too punk/goth-y for my work...hmmm, but i can see having some of my shadow pics there. might have to look into it.
lucy had her stuff in the red room. here's two of hers, the second is a detail of a collaboration with someone else...or maybe they're both collaborations, i forget...
carpathian the storyteller was in one of the other rooms. there were lots of kids sitting on the floor. the story was about how jack o' lanterns came about.
mr. cooper wants some halloween images next week, i think i'll send him that second one.
i took some pics of lucy from inside, well actually we were taking pics of each other! she was hangin' out on the sidewalk with her crew. these turned out pretty cool, you can see me, her, people inside and outside...there's a guy's head floating on my chest in the second one!
on the way home i took some blurry pics on the highway...
that's the radar speed signs there, the numbers...i guess i was doing 54 or 55...the speed limit on the corridor there is 50. tuff titty!

he wrote mysterious skin (i really need to see that movie!) and in awe...two really wonderful books, favorites of mine. thom, you've probably read him, right?
anyhoo, he's a friend of cooper's and posts over there once in a while. he did so the other night, and i posted right under him, saying "may i be a total goofball and say what a pleasure it is to have mr. scott heim on top of me???"...hehehe!
he has a blog too, i've been there a few times. i decided to post something over there...god, the guy has such cool music tastes! well, yesterday i got a real nice email from him, i was totally tickled! scott heim! he knew me from dennis's blog, he liked my video fun day i did over there recently.
his new book, which i've been waiting for for years, has hit a few snags with the publishers, they feel it's too personal and not commercial enough, so i guess he's tweeking it a bit...i hope that gets resolved soon.

was supposed to meet up with steve today, but...family matters came up. those kids are annoying me, and i haven't even met them yet! j/k...sorta. he's a great dad, i can tell. he was gonna come up here, we were gonna hit the museum and have lunch...shit, i'm bummmed. but probably next friday...he's worth the wait.
well, at least i got the house lookin' pretty damn spiffy!
rob and sw both got a weird yahoo message from "me", though it WASN'T from me...some link to some spam or something...anyone else on my list recieve it?

ok, well. the house is clean. the monkey has been spanked. it's a nice quiet sunday.
