mid-week report
7:47 p.m.
interesting day. work was busy, i got lots of projects done.
on my break i went over to see john at affordable frames. i'm knda obsessed right now about finding just the right thin black frame for my pictures. he had some ok stuff.
on my lunch i went down to eureka art and frame, and i think i found what i'm looking for....very thin, black. i want the pics to look classy...white mat. the frame can't be too thick. i'm thinking of a tuxedo, of all things. simple, elegant, black and white.
anyway...and i think the pics need to be 11x14 rather than 8x10...it just feels more serious or something a bit larger.
framing isn't cheap. but if i want to be taken seriously, i think it needs to look professional.
but if i get to show stuff at batkave, i think that 8x10 and readymade frames would work there. but i really want to submit something for the museum show in december...bigger is better.

i dunno what pic to select for the museum...maybe that dark palm tree...we'll see.
so i think on friday i'll take a cd to the batkave gal and maybe go down to swanlunds and get a few 11x14's printed...exciting!
what else...oh, the toilet overflowed on my lunch hour! i didn't have time to deal with it, i was running late so i just put some newspapers on the floor and dealt with it when i came home tonight. it was just water :) i guess my massive man-poop this morning was too much for the plumbing...i know, i know...thanks for sharing, right?
got another nice email from scott heim today...everyone go read his books mysterious skin and in awe...NOW!
he's still re-working his new one. i sent him the links to some pics.
speaking of pics, go look at the cool picture i took of ricky's car last march HERE...that's "milton", his mini-cooper.
lucy emailed me today too, she said the slits are playing here on the 20th. at synapse gallery...wow, the slits! they were contemporaries of the clash and the pistols...they reformed this year. a few original members...in fact ari up's mother is nora, who married john lydon (johnny rotten)! i'm gonna call bandon tomorrow at the works tomorrow about tickets, i think it might be fun, that's a small space they're playing...some good pics are possible!
