happy/sad sunday
10:49 a.m.

sorry about that last entry...it can be a bit hard to read. i just like how new ideas and thoughts come out by rearranging the words. might be really fun if you're STONED, though.

i won a d-land contest last night! i was visitor #10,000 at RICHARD'S page...he's gonna get me something from my wishlist! it might arrive right around my birthday....yay!

rob and i went for a walk last night...what a beautiful day we had here. we get so deep sometimes when we really start talking, it's...brilliant! haha!

he told me that the beatles were supposed to record revolver in memphis...imagine what THAT would have sounded like, the lads soaking up some of the local flava! the mind boggles. oh, the stones recorded in the states in the early days...chicago, l.a., but what happens? you go to chicago and get all "bluesy" or something?

paul simon recorded "mother and child reunion" in jamaica, that was the first time i ever heard reggae, although i didn't know what it was at the time. and do you know where that title comes from? (this is a GREAT story)..."mother and child reunion" was a dish on the menu at a cafe he went to in jamaica. it's chicken and eggs! isn't that cool?

i'm home for lunch...had a phone message from steve, he was on the plane about to take off back home...we'll talk tonight i hope...all the rainbow flags in l.a. are flying at half-mast today!

this is for him...from the pretenders:

MY CITY WAS GONE

I WENT BACK TO OHIO
BUT MY CITY WAS GONE
THERE WAS NO TRAIN STATION
THERE WAS NO DOWNTOWN
SOUTH HOWARD HAD DISAPPEARED
ALL MY FAVORITE PLACES
MY CITY HAD BEEN PULLED DOWN
REDUCED TO PARKING SPACES
A, O, WAY TO GO OHIO

WELL I WENT BACK TO OHIO
BUT MY FAMILY WAS GONE
I STOOD ON THE BACK PORCH
THERE WAS NOBODY HOME
I WAS STUNNED AND AMAZED
MY CHILDHOOD MEMORIES
SLOWLY SWIRLED PAST
LIKE THE WIND THROUGH THE TREES
A, O, OH WAY TO GO OHIO

I WENT BACK TO OHIO
BUT MY PRETTY COUNTRYSIDE
HAD BEEN PAVED DOWN THE MIDDLE
BY A GOVERNMENT THAT HAD NO PRIDE
THE FARMS OF OHIO
HAD BEEN REPLACED BY SHOPPING MALLS
AND MUZAK FILLED THE AIR
FROM SENECA TO CUYAHOGA FALLS
SAID, A, O, OH WAY TO GO OHIO
