spark that spleeeeeef, mon
12:43 p.m.

laid on rob's couch last night and watched a good chunk of westway to the world, the clash docmentary...hmmm, i dunno, strummer's voice was just the right sound at the right time i guess. topper heddon sure looks like he put himself through hell, he looks 60 yrs. old.

it's not a good as the filth and the fury, but the pistols had a bit more excitement going on...gonna watch the rest of it this afternoon...AFTER i pick up my new glasses! one gay pair, one...not. maybe i'll scan them for you or something...i hope that blue tint isn't too dark..

and today is gay tuesday, i just found that out. (it's a fortuna thing, i guess).

trying to be productive the rest of my week off...four days of fun, now i need to work it! got bills paid, might putter around in the garage tonight, before bb4 comes on. oh god, i was crying last week when jee was doing that ceremony honoring his late father...it hit me hard.

i never had a big cry when my dad died, because he had been slipping away for a few years...diabetes, both legs eventually amputated...it WAS a relief when he went.

hmm, ok, veered to the left there for a moment, that was weird.

anyway, this morning i was still in a clash mood, so i put on super black market clash, it's got lots of odds and ends, some great dub versions of "bank robber" and "the magnificent seven"...so i'm dancing around, doin' a little jamaica-style skank...the cat's sitting on the kitchen table, looking at me like "idiot..." haha! i start dancing all up in his face, asking him "what de matta mon, you no like the mighty dub?"

dat cat, he a bummy bumclot...

so that leads to a little talking heads, which leads to los angeles by x...the one-two opening punch of "your phone's off the hook (but you're not)" and "johny hit and run paulene" still pins my ears back...the latter is my all-time favorite song in the world, really. it's a fucking freight train, coming right at you.

Johny Hit And Run Paulene

he bought a sterilized hypo
to shoot a sex machine drug
he got 24 hours
to shoot all paulenes between the legs
he'll throw 96 tears thru 24 hours
sexed once every hour

johny hit and run paulene (x4)

l.a. bus doors open
kicking both doors open
when it rested on 6th street
that's when he drug a girl inside
he was spreading her legs
and didn't understand dying
she was still awake

johny hit and run paulene (x4)

when he was waking up
beside the bed
he found clumps of hair
the last paulene wouldn't cooperate
she wasn't what you'd call living really
but she was still awake

johny hit and run paulene (x4)

this album is 23 years old, and a few months ago i heard a new harmony that john does in the chorus of "your phone's..." well, obviously, it's not NEW, it's always been there...he goes up, not down....oh that was so fun to find. i'm just like those old farts listening to their glenn miller and tommy dorsey...only NOW i understand. i'm sure i'll be blasting out richard hell and devo when i'm 60.

now see, that's the kind of stuff i should be writing for sebastian's zine....it's a start i guess. i've had such a block about that...i guess i need to think i'm actually writing something else, then it comes...

speaking of discovering things already there, i had the car a couple of months before i realized there were speakers in the back! d'oh!

and i'm getting 25 mpg...that's good isn't it?

oh, strummer had some great opening line in the clash movie, i'm gonna write it down.

and i borrowed the black market clash cd from rob's house....ssshhhh.

i think i need to go see "honk" again...and take notes. i wonder if sheila wants to go again, i'll treat! i need to be not so shy and go up and say hi to jr, i have that book for him, he'll love it i think. and i need to say hi to branden the cat...i told him in chat...uh let's see if i can find it...hold on...

MK says: well, yeah, you seemed like a natural up there...i didn't feel like you were acting...if you know what i mean, some people you're always aware that they're thinking about the next line.

Branden says: yes, i know exactly what you saying. i felt the same way... i think Nanette ( Ida) is also that way. thank you for the compliment.

i mean, the kid was really good.

oh,and there were actually FOUR diarylanders in the show, not three!

and YOU...thanks for being so open and honest...you mean a lot to me, i know you know how to take that. i don't mind the occasional "but I wont talk about that with you."...i'm here if you need me for anything, ok?

been walking about 7 miles a day...did i say that yesterday? oh it comes on quick, doesn't it?

just talked to ian, that's 2 brits in 2 days...they GET me over there.

might add a bit here tonight...ha! how often i say that, how rarely it happens.

i love you to pieces, michael
