god must be a boogie man...
11:34 p.m.

ok, this STILL isn't my big, funny, stuff-from-all-my-scribbled-notes entry...soon, my pets, soon.

i had a fun lunch hour today...i was chatting with matty and then sheila called...the last performance of "honk" went real great...she gave bryeon, who was the lead, a little crystal star....and she met his mother, too! adrienne, sheila's the honky, not me, i guess!

sheila and i had a very short, very intense, very deep talk about religion and sexuality...WE'VE got everything figured out...how about you?

she's my best pal in the whole wide world...we met in a BAR, ok?

branden, sheila is the receptionist at the dental clinic at school...she'd be tickled if you dropped in and said hi sometime, ok? but she said she might not recognize you out of your cat tuxedo...just walk in and say "heeeelllooo, ducky!" THEN she'll know it's you.

and tonight she called me back, she had just gotten a call from her husband kevin, who's in colorado...today he scattered the ashes of his father there...i guess it was a really beautiful place, up in the mountains, with a stream right there...and she said kevin sounded very...relaxed and at peace. that was nice to hear. his father died about a year and a half ago.

i grabbed my copy of joni mitchell's mingus, and read her the following...

"charles mingus, a musical mystic, died in mexico, january 5th, 1979, at the age of 56. he was cremated the next day. that same day, 56 sperm whales beached themselves on the mexican coastline and were removed by fire. these are the coincidences that thrill my imagination.

sue, at his request - carried his ashes to india and finding a place at the source of the ganges river, where it ran turquoise and glinting with gold carp, released him, with flowers and prayers at the break of a new day.

Sue and the holy river
Will send you to the saints of jazz-
To Duke and Bird and Fats-
And any other saints you have.
"

i want to be cremated, and maybe help some plants grow stronger...i can't see the point of being filled with preservatives and stuck in a box...the end results are the same, it just takes longer that way! but to become a part of the living, breathing earth, THAT makes sense to me, ok? a nice fragrant herb garden, THAT'S where i'd like to end up...

matt....thanks. i'm really glad you're around. 'nuff said.

alrighty, people, NEXT entry, lots of wacky weirdness, i promise!

can i give you a backrub? - michael
