i'm on vacation!
11:47 p.m.

hmmm, something feels DIFFERENT here...

if this template goes through one more remodel in the quest for simplicity and purity, it's just gonna disappear!

wow, it looks like phu is running a different banner linking back to me every day...he asked me to write 10 short sentences about why people should come and read me. what a cool guy, everyone go read the adventures of the mighty phu! he got a quick glimpse of our future gov. terminator... and he's going to the tom green show!

phu...

he's everywhere YOU wannna be.

he got the magazine in 2 days! here's what he said in his diary yesterday...

"My mom came into my room and said I had a package downstairs.

I didnt have a clue what she was talking about. I went down and saw a big ole yellow envelope. Fuck yeah! Michael sent me the Stuff Magazine with Kylie on the cover. That was so nice of him. The magazine was in pristine condition. He enclosed a note which read: Hey PhuHope you dig this! And I hope theres some pictures you havent seen before! All my best, Michael. Dope shit! Kylie looked so amazing in the magazine. Thanks a million Michael. That truly was an unselfish act."

and in local news...

"honk", the play that jr is the musical director for, got a great review in the local paper by betti trauth (god, that woman bugs me, she's total fingernails on the chalk board)...here's a bit of what she had to say...

"The set that Daniel Lawrence has designed for Ferndale's version of this tender tale is one of his best. He gives you the feeling that you're looking into the dimensional pages of an abstract storybook (which is where the two musicians sit to play the score, at the very back of the stage).

The songs that fill the score of "HONK!" alternate between being soaring, lovely, and wickedly witty -- and the lyrics go from pure poetry to pure silly and back again. You could listen to this music in the dark, and still see everything, because the emotional content is so strong, and well written.

The band (comprised of conductor/keyboard player, Justin Ross, and Jesse Morris on guitar) who sit tucked away in the center of the back of the stage throughout the show, do a remarkably solid job of mastering the intricate patterns written by Stiles."

BRAVO, JR! (he got the flowers i sent...yay!)

ok, here's some other stuff...

our former manager's mother is a real estate agent...her name?

GAYE BARR!

a friend was watching some cheerleader finals on tv...you know, the kind where they all jump around to hyper techno music and make pyramids and stuff? well, one team seemed to be not so good, they were making a lot of mistakes. upon closer inspection, he realized that they were all down's syndrome kids! oops...

the funniest thing i said all week to someone was this: "you gettin' all DARWIN on my ass?" taken out of context, with no explaination, it's even funnier, i think.

just had a chat with steve, he's playing with his new kitty...

rob and i went down to the waterfront tonight to see the beach boys cover band. it was interesting....not bad. lots of white people dancing badly...in broad daylight! matty said he might go, didn't see him. i'm SURE i'd recognize him in real life...

finally saw jared the little drummer guy yesterday at work again...he shaved all his hair off...i told him it suits him. he's...a little bulldog-fireplug kind of guy, those are the words that come to mind. he's so short, but that suits him too. his band hasn't recorded yet, no website yet, some gigs coming up soon maybe. i would have given him one of my cards if i had some in my wallet...but no, they're right here on my desk...stupid.

so, yeah, he's a yum-yum, that's for sure.

well kids, daddy was up till 5 am this morning tinkering with what you see here....abwhite, i'm awaiting your verdict! i just couldn't get the picture smaller AND in the right place on that other one...like i said, this is about as minimal as it can get!

oh, bev at work gave me a multi-level 5 ft. tall carpet-covered cat tower that her husband made...buddy's slowly checking it out. maybe i'll take a few pics.

the last few nights the boy's gotten all worked up playing with me and he starts dashing madly from room to room, hiding behind furniture, just generally acting like a nut...steve, i'm talking about the cat! (he was thinking it was...someone else, haha!)

a straight boy asked me to marry him this week...don't ask!

vacation starts NOW...i don't even know how many days i have off...9?

tomorrow is gonna be interesting. stay tuned...

much love, michael
